NWA: Plan Ahead, Settle In

Hey there, NWA food lover! 😋
As you probably have heard, a winter storm is forecasted for later this week. Not a guarantee — just enough to make planning ahead feel smart.

It might sound unusual coming from a travel guide, but my first priority is you — not filling a newsletter. So today is about a few small things to make your week easier.

If you’re doing one prep run, think snacky and comforting:

  • Fresh bread or pastries
  • Soup, chili, or something easy to reheat
  • Chocolate, popcorn, or a favorite sweet
  • A bottle of wine, local beer, or hot cocoa fixings

I’m adding no-bake cookies, a pot of chili, and marshmallows to my list. :)

If you can, grab a few things from a local spot you already love. When weather turns rough, small businesses tend to feel it first.

For weather updates, I’m watching Zachary Hall, Arkansas Storm Tracker — clear, local, and focused on what actually matters as things develop.

If the weather shows up, you’re ready.

If it doesn’t, you’re still good.

For now — plan ahead and settle in.

Hey, it's Lynn – Happy Friday! Hard to believe we’re already in the middle of January — that went fast. This weekend across Northwest Arkansas brings a mix of cozy, playful, and unexpected: candlelit concerts, country dancing, masquerade ball, Ozark Mountain Music Festival, chilli cook-off and a few things you probably wouldn’t stumble on by accident. Over the past couple of weeks, a project I started working on has grown into something much bigger than I originally anticipated. I’m crossing...

The new project I mentioned is still in progress. It’s coming together well, just slower than expected. I’m aiming for Friday and looking forward to sharing it with you. And speaking of comfort food, the scratch-made soups at The Five6 in this week’s video are exactly the kind of cold-weather meal that hits right Let's dive in. 👇...

Hey, it's Lynn – Happy Friday! A Little Change of Plans... I know I mentioned on Wednesday that I was working on something new and hoped to have it ready for you today. Well, as it turns out, that project is still in the "low and slow" phase—much like a good brisket. It’s not quite ready for the table yet, but I promise it’ll be worth the wait. In the meantime, there is something big that is ready. If you’ve driven near the new Walmart Campus in Bentonville lately, you probably smelled it...
